Police arrest a man over online betting on the NPL
Kathmandu police say a 32-year-old Indian national ran about Rs 8.98 million through online betting sites.
Police in Kathmandu have arrested a 32-year-old Indian national accused of helping people bet on the NPL online, Kantipur reports.
The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office made the arrest after a tip that people were placing or arranging online bets on the games. The first findings are that he moved Rs 8,981,729 through different betting sites, according to the report, which cites the Central Police News Room.
He's been sent to the District Police Office, Kathmandu, for further investigation on a gambling charge. He hasn't been convicted of anything, so we aren't naming him.
